Thank you very much Cliff,
Indeed my Grandfather was George. Sadly we lost him 15 years ago tomorrow. But it is wonderful to know that someone from his younger days remembers him.
Gordon I understand now lives on the Welsh boarder. Walter moved to Australia and changed his name to Shervington. Rose passed away about 2 years ago. Vera (the Wren) still lives in Tetbury. Helen I think died in Germany The others were Oliver, Gwen, May, Joyce, Marjorie, Dolly, Henry, Raymond, Cyril, Geoffrey, Horace, Les and John. Do any of those names ring a bell.

Hi Selena. I guess you know your Family pretty well indeed. Vera and Oliver were the two faces I could not put names to. I always knew they were a big family, and I seem to remember your Great Grandfather George had been married twice. I also think they came to Tetbury from Redditch in Worcestershire. I am afraid that I did not know some of the the older members who you have named. there is every possibility that they had married and left home in my early life in West Street. I remember Wally going to Australia and then he vanished. hanging his name worked. Rumour had it that he joined the Australian Army and had been killed in some Far Eastern jungle. Vera married a sailor Bill from Oxford. Rose married a Bert COOK. I have many memories of the family, but would rather not put them on this open Forum. If you would like to contact me on my E-address I can reply by personal messages. You say Gordon is somewhere on the Welsh Borders, do you know where ?, do you have any address ? I live in Telford, Shropshire, which borders with Mid Wales. Would really like to make contact with him after all of these years. Incidentally in a publication, "Tetbury The Place And The People, compiled by the Tetbury Historical Society, there is a photograph of Tetbury Grammar School Football Team C.1949. Gordon. I still have Family and contacts in Tetbury where I can ask to refresh or verify my memories. Be glad to hear from you any time. This also applies to any of our many readers. If I can help I will. Cliff BRYAN.

Hi Selina, Nice to hear from you again, I was beginning to wonder why no contact. Where was the extra dot? at the end of my E:- address or yours. Do you have my correct E:- address? Would still like to hear where Gordon is living. Not too far away from me I hope, would really like to make contact with him again. Must be short with this communication as my allotted time on this Library outlet has seven minutes left. Have been cut off too many times whilst rushing to finish a mesdsage. Be in touch sometime, Cliff B. of Telford

Hi Selena, Just a short E- Look up Monica Mary on this forum. She went to school with E/Helen way back when. She has tried to let you know, but has heard nothing to say you received. I guess the extra dot is at the end of your E- address. I am in fairly regular contact with Monica who left Tetbury just after way back when for a new life in Australia. Cliff B.

Hello to all Forum readers. Just a quick inquiry. With the 60th Birthday of Prince Charles in the news. Are the bells of St. Mary rung regularly these days? Has anyone a relative who used to ring way back in the 1940- 1950's ? Is there any one else, who like me rang on the day of Prince Charles' birth. Can they re-call being invited to take a drink in celebration with Lady Eleanor GIBBS . Are our names still written on or near the chiming mechanism. Would appreciate any current ringer/s getting in touch. Cliff of Telford.

Must guess that the bells no longer ring, there are no longer any campanologists, a further guess is no one cares. Back to one of the earliest messages " APATHY". Still lots of hits but no one bothered to put a message or two into the forum. Popular saying, " Use it or lose it " Cliff B.
