Hello Philip, I am probably the one from down-under Cliff was talking about,I have tried to answer your letter a couple of times but although I was a member I cant seem to get through so am using a new name and hoping this will work. Just to let you know my father also used to work part-time at the cinema when he was a young man in the late twenties and early thirties.I keep in touch with Cliff through emails but like him have been a bit disapointed, not getting much response from old Tetburians. Here.s hoping you get this Take care MonicaMary.

Hi Rosebud, Somewhere back in my schooldays a line from a poem lurks in the back of my mind. Unable to remember in full or where it comes from. " A rose by another name ", possibly Shakespeare. Perhaps one of of numerous readers a little more knowledgeable will assist, Glad to see that you are now able to access, thought you had given up. Another saying , " Hope springs eternal". How are you all ? Not sure who owes who a news letter. Really short on time, dashed in to check on another matter, only 27 minutes available before lunch shut down. Will drop you a P.M. in the near future, so busy it is unbelievable. Cliff.

Dear Cliff et al,
The seriously underused forum has been a bit quiet of late, so I hope you are all well.
I've posted a thread about the Dolphins Hall 50th, but figure that you may well have some tales to tell. My earliest memory of the Dolphins is going to find my mother there after I'd managed to fall off that nasty slide climbing frame thing, and failed to bounce, at the age of 4, having fractured my arm significantly after some good old-fashioned unsupervised play. Do you have any stories you'd wish to share?
Many thanks.

Hello Mrs Epsilon, Have lots of memories of the Dolphin Hall in the early years, the most vivid was of my seven year old son with his little friends singing and dancing on the stage 'We,re riding along on the crest of a wave"and getting in a big muddle with their dancing, all the audience trying hard not to laugh also of my two year old son sitting on my lap at the time shouting out very loud "thats my bruvver"(very embarrassing). Considering the seven year old is now 56 yrs old and the two year old is now 50,and we have lived in Australia for 46 years,it must have been a very new building then.I dont know wether Cliff will have any memories because he left Tetbury before I did we do keep in touch through email, but I may be wrong he may do.Nice to see another letter after all this time,Monica Mary.

Hello Mrs. Epsilon, So nice at last to hear from someone showing some interest and wishing to have input. Hard to tell how many there are out there who visit, but never put anything in. With over 10,00 hits in a very short time it compares very well with other forums on Tetbury online. Rosebud has already responded. We were at school together in the distant past. Sorry to say that I have no memories etc. of Dolphin Hall at all. In my time where it now stands was a paddock opening on to the Rec. But the "Institute" is another matter, it was the centre of our social life. Concerts to raise money for Tank Week, Spitfire Week, etc.etc. were regular things. Saturday night dances every week, Toc H. Vivid memories of RAF " Guinea Pigs " ( badly burnt Air Crew) convalescent at Estcourt Hall attending. How many of our viewers remember Tommy HANDLEY, ( Tommy who? many will ask) bringing variety perfomers to Tetbury. Reggie WOODWARD as the ghost in a performance of Macbeth. A snooker table in the up-stairs rooms. Mrs EPSILON you really have stirred up some memories. Come on all lookers in, let us hear from you. Cliff B. of Telford. Ex. Tetburian.

Mrs. Epsilon, help! You seem to be the one person olnline at the moment and taking an active interest on this forum... I cannot find where to post a new topic...: MOBILE PHONE RECEPTION I will be in Tetbury soon, and while the house is undergoing renovation, I only have a mobile phone, which is T-Mobile, I hardly get any signal in Tetbury, I have to walk up and down Long Street, like an alien searching for some kind of signal from outer space.... Not ideal when I will have a roofers, builder and plumber, etc... working there, and at the moment only come from London, for a couple of the days at a time.. Which mobile phone company has the best reception there? Many thanks, (I can repost this, only if i know how to start a new topic)

To Junot. Cliff on line from Cape Canaveral. Just picking up my messages. Since the board was up dated have had trouble sending. My last message signed by me was meant for Mrs EPSILON but some how was headed from her. Sorry unable to help with mobile signals. Always willing to help with things past in Tetbury. Almost given up on others making contact. As you can see fro the number of hits there are many people who read but do not contribute. Ask the Web=Master in respect of signals, he lives in Tetbury, I am sure he will help. Cliff.B.

Hmm - Hi Junot - mobile phone coverage. Depends a lot on how thick your walls are! I'm with Virgin (who hang off another network - not sure which) which is fine in most of Tetbury, unless you're in one of the older buildings/hostelries, but has no coverage at all in Ciren. Aged Parent is with Tescos and she has coverage (can't see the buttons to make a call, but that's another story!)
Hope that helps. Will now apply myself to instructions how to set up a new discussion string. I know it's not that difficult - I've done it twice now!

Greetings to all readers/visitors to Seriously underused forum. I know you are all out there because the hits keep going up. How about some of you having a little input. I am still hoping that some one who attended Tetbury Grammar School at the same time as my self will get in touch. Where in the World are some of you? What happened to you after School., National Service, did your education help you in later life and work? Come on rattle a few keys.Cliff B.

From Cliff. It seems we have gone off on another tangent. Still wondering where my old school mates from mid 1940's ended up. In particular I remember evacuees escaping the bombing in London and surrounds. Charles and Pat REID, living in White Hart ( Now Snooty Fox ) during war years. Landlady at this time a Mrs RADMILOVIC. Another School mate Valerie HYNES from Croydon. Any readers, did you know them, do you know where they are now ? Be pleased to hear. Cliff.B.

From Cliff B. of Telford. Wishing all readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Nearly a month since I last posted. Is this Forum now closed ? After 11,000 + hits interest seems to have waned. Any suggestions where to go next. Cliff B.

From Cliff B.. To all and sundry, readers, friends etc. It seems no one wishes to keep this Forum going. Sad really, considering the amount of hits. Has no one anything of interest to add ? Will view from time to time hoping !

To ANY readers, Six weeks have passed since I last added anything. Scrolling down message board it seems that all points of contact are suffering from the same disease, APATHY. A word I used some 11,000 hits ago. Must be a terrible disease to suffer from. RIP. Cliff B.
