We've made some more updates to Tetbury Online today.
With the new high-resolution imagery of Tetbury on Google Earth, which appeared yesterday, some areas of this site now feature links directly into Google Earth itself.
So in the Local Attractions pages, clicking on the Google Earth icon will open the application at the relevant place on the map, if you have it installed on your computer. It's handy for finding places such as Preston Park or the Police Museum, which aren't usually listed on a map.
The difference in resolution is huge. Previously you had to be zoomed out a long way to get a good image, and couldn't pick out even the biggest buildings in the town, whereas now you can pick out individual cars, trees, and even people.
As such, it's become much more useful to Tetbury. If you select "Google Earth Community" in the program, a number of placemarks will appear with local landmarks explained. We're helping to add to these so that Google Earth is even better for visitors to the town.
We hope you find these geographical links useful - let us know in the comments.
Meanwhile, we added the Jobs section to the site a couple of weeks ago - if you have a vacancy you want to advertise, let us know through the form in the Jobs section.
Finally, March will be another record-breaking month on the site. We're getting an average of 250 users every day, which is about 50% more than before the site relaunched last August. Thanks for your support, and do bookmark the site.
