Does anyone else think that registration should be compulsory on this site? I've mentioned this before elsewhere, but I am fed up with idiots posting random comments from an anonymous point of view. A couple of members have already considered leaving, and if brain-dead loners are allowed to anonymously post whatever they like, then I believe there is no long-term future for this forum.
A couple of suggestions:
1) Nowhere that I can find is there a way of 'reporting abuse' or easily contacting the webmaster to ask to remove abusive comments. Can we have this please?
2) There are no discussion board rules (or if there are, I can't find them), something else that surely is a 'must' on this type of community forum.
3) As mentioned, registered members only, so that those who break the rules can be banned.
What do others think?

Hi Norman,
1) I can't see anything in the forum settings that would let me put a 'Report Abuse' button on it.
2) I doubt the rule-breakers would take the time to read rules.
3) I think this would get rid of the many people who just browse the forum. I can ban IP address, so if you send me a Private Message through the forum, I can technically ban people if need be.
I also don't think things are as bad as you suggest. I've removed a few abusive posts, but many of the ones I think you refer to are just 'silly'. The best thing to do with a playground bully is just ignore them, so that would be my advice on the forum.

Can anyone help me,I know I wrote about this problem before and with help from normanspants,I really thought I had got it all settled I would like to become a member (permanently) but I am back to square one again. I received my acceptance email on 30th Dec.and wrote two letters on 30th Dec, and Jan 1st both accepted as a member also looked up my View Profile as New Member Joined DEC. 2 Posts. Yesterday I wrote a letter answering a letter to Charlie k about Tetbury shop and find that it was,nt sent as there is someone else with my name monicamary which to me is a bit of a coincidence. I dont know yet if this letter will go,am wondering if the best idea would be to start all over again and use another name altogether

I read your letteragain normanspants and done exactly as you saidand as you can see it worked.I obviouslydid,nt read it properly before. It,s as my mother used to say to me (its no fun getting old my girl) although I doubt if she would have used a computer at 75 yrs old.

Hi Monica and Norman, Without looking went straight into our usual forum without looking further down the list. Attached a message, please read. I agree with all of your comments, and also those of Webmaster. I have now learnt that one must read the tags at the top before making a reply, especially when changing forums. I hope I am making sense. Hopefully this message, the third attempt leaves here OK. Happy New Year. Cliff
