Unfortunately I missed the recent consultation on the redevelopment of the old Goods Shed on the Railway Yard site. Can anyone fill me in on what's planned?

It'd be nice to see it used, as long as the renovation is performed sympathetically. If the modern practice of using a building's "footprint" as the basis for a completely new structure is utilised then, frankly, I'd rather see it demolished and the area landscaped!!! Fingers crossed that such historical sympathy will be employed (and insisted on by the regeneration trust) by the architects.
On a related topic, the proposed cycleway to Kemble will be of incredible benefit to us all I think. It will open up so much more of the surrounding areas to cycle rides, which at the moment are difficult to access without first utilising a hazardous section along the London Road (and of course a stop-off at the Trouble House for liquid refreshment will be ideal!!).... Hats off to whoever remains the driving force behind that scheme.

Yes, I'd love to see that cycle route come into being - it would be great.

I guess the question is where exactly are we regarding the status of this building now that the lottery application has been rejected ? anyone Anyway, my thoughts.... At the very least the exterior could be maintained I.E remove the graffiti and secure the roof over the small office (?) area in doing so people (visitors) using the long stay car park would not see the tarpaulin and razor wire, after all this is the first Tetbury building people encounter close up when using the long stay car park ! Should the building be demolished ? T.I.C during the 1980's part of the former Cook Brewery building in Hampton Street was demolished, the mid 1960's clearances in West Street also the former Warn & Sons Brewery (Old Brewery Lane) not forgetting the early 1970's demolition of the actual G.W Tetbury Station building - then the answer should be a resounding YES. Of course this won't happen due to the fact the "shed" has some listed railway status ! this being the case wouldn't it be great if the building was removed & reconstructed in a more fitting setting such as Didcot Rail Centre where it could be fully appreciated by rail enthusiasts.......Cirencester has a similar problem with the former "Cirencester Town Station" yet another rail anachronism. As for a cycle route to Kemble interesting thought.....
