As I'm just planning my re-visit tomorrow for the weekly gift and craft market - it just occurred to me - what's actually in in Tetbury for the people who live there?
For the past 13 months I've been running my weekly market in the market place - which still needs a kick up the backside (the market place, not me) and it does seem very much to be a one for the tourists.
I only work in Tetbury March to December - because there seem to be no people around through the week out of tourist season... yet surely people live here?
I'm keen to find out what's available for the residents. Clubs, sports facilities, local groups, libraries, regular "shops" - ie NOT antique bric a brac shops... I'm developing a Tetbury board which will be on display every week at the market place. It will be an amazing fact filled information board of things that "aren't" tourist driven - to try and encourage the people to make use of and demand more facilities for Tetbury.
As a market trader / organiser, we rely on the townsfolk to sustain us yet I see no shops dedicated to the town? Is Tesco's it?
We're back in tomorrow - pop up and see us, take a browse of the market, find out about the Christmas Market... enjoy a cuppa on us!
