Hi
I am hoping to move to tetbury this year from London. I wanted to know what the primary schools are like in the area. I generally find that the OFSTED reports give a very generic view of a school which lacks the human element. Any help would be fantastic.

Not having any children of my own I don't think my opinion of the local schools would be a lot of help.
However I will pass your request onto people in the town and seek some genuine thoughts from parents, and maybe even a teacher or two and pass them on. Or better still come on here and answer you directly.
Give me until after the Easter Holiday and then keep your eye on the site... see what we can do.

hello,
as a teacher in the tetbury secondary, i would have to say that your choice of one, though limited, is a pretty good one. that's where our daughter starts this september.
there are options around, though, if you don't mind driving. rodmarton, leighterton, avening, sherston and malmesbury are all within 5 - 15 minutes. but i would still choose st mary's.....

I have four children, they all went to the local primary school, St Marys. My original choice was some time ago (youngest two are at the local secondary now) but I still think it is a good school. Good fascilities, teachers, an active PTA and plenty of after school stuff too. Also, children can walk to school, meet up with friends outside school times and generally be part of the local community. I do feel nothing beats a visit though, if you can an open day and school days ( there will also be a summer fete). I hope this helps.
