As an expat I still miss the old fashioned, fat laden, cheap, sausages of my youth. Woolworths used to sell sausages, I think they were called "popular ", but alas ,Woolies is no more and the old sausages seem to be replaced by healthy low fat alternatives .Can anyone tell me if the old version still exists anywhere and if so which brand is best ?

As a worldwide wanderer myself I can sympathise with the things you miss, however the good news is the British 'Banger' is still alive and well.
True you can get healthy low fat varieties you can even get a version that doesn't even have meat in it....
If you know where to go a full English breakfast is still available, if you plan to stay in hotels while you're visiting Tetbury make sure you ask about the breakfast before booking.
You mentioned June, if it is early June, the Tetbury Wool Sack Race is held on Whit Monday 30th May the whole town takes part.

Nice to hear they are still around! Which ones should we buy in the supermaket? Secondly we are not only visiting Tetbury we have purchased a property in town. We plan, as the years advance, to divide our time between Australia and the UK. Lucky for us our dollar has increased in value so much that the UK prices are actually much cheaper now. Quite a turn around as the majority of our time in OZ has been spent complaining how expensive it was to travel overseas. Right now we are able to buy more than $1 US for $1 AUS, last time this happened was in the early 1980's! By the way $1 AUS buys 63 Pence!! Anyway thanks again Merlin for the reply. ;D
