I am soon going to be spending a lot of time in Tetbury, but have had little time to familiarize myself with the place so far.
I would love to learn more about the town and the area in general -I live in London, but I am not English, and over the years I have visited The Cotswolds many times, but never in depth. Like many people, I love the region for its beauty, but would also love to know more about its history and -my personal interest, understand the social and ethnographic perspective. Could any one recommend a book that tells me a bit about the Cotswolds, its links between the past and the present?
If you cannot answer any of the above, any tidbits of general interest are still very much appreciated.

There is a book - Tetbury, The Place and People - which may be of interest. There was also a "Tetbury, the Town and the People" DVD which gives an insight to the people. It was, incidentally, not intended as a marketing tool, more as an historical record so it's a little bit "warts'n'all".
There's also an active History Of Tetbury Society who meet (I think) on the first Thursday in the month.

Hi Junot,
The only way I could figure out how to post a new thread was to do it! Let's see if we get any answers...
If you go to general board in the blue header, on the right hand side there's an icon to click then you're in.
Welcome to Tetbury!
