My family has recently been looking into our background and we were wondering if anybody had any information about the Avery family. We have traced a John Avery back to 1655 (year of birth) in Tetbury and possibly back another generation to 1605. Any information would be wonderful. Thank you.

Hello Alex,
I have no idea if what I am sending will be of any interest to you, but for what it is worth here it is.
My Mother Sybil Eunice COOK, b. Tetbury approx. 1916, had an older Sister Margaret, ( aka known as Peggy ) who married a Phillip AVERY in the mid 1930,s . Parents, my Grandparents were, Jesse Isaac and Henrietta COOK and lived at 48 West Street, Tetbury. I have no knowledge of the Avery Family origins. For all of the time that I knew the Avery's, losing contact after their deaths, they lived in Eagle Road , Guildford, Surrey . There were two children of the marriage, Monica and David, both now in their sixties. Having lived with my Aunt for some time during WW.2, I was aware that a Brother of Phillip lived not very far away from Eagle Road. Unable to be absolutely positive of this , but Artillery Road rings a bell.
Would be pleased to hear from you if above has been of assistance.
