Hi there,
I recently visited the cheese shop in Church St. Whilst offering an fantastic range of French and English cheeses, I did notice that something was not quite right about the whole experience. I couldn't put my finger on it. I cannot express what was bothering me, but I wonder if other Tetbury residents have noticed something slightly strange about my otherwise innocent visit to this chateau de fromage?
Yours sincerely,
Cpt. Fromage

We try very hard to give a good service and have been doing so for the last eighteen years. Perhaps we said something we shouldn't have, or served you badly, in which case I'm sorry. Regards Philip www.houseofcheese.co.uk

We were extremely surprised and saddened to read this rant. Five years ago we moved into North Wiltshire. Almost the first people who extended warmth were Phillip and Jenny in the cheese shop. Not only did they stock fantastic cheese from France and other parts of Europe but also supported local cheese makers. Saturdays would not be the same without our visit to the House of Cheese. Friends from all over the country who come and stay do not think their visit is complete unless they can return back home with plenty of excellent cheese.
In terms of visitors and the internet, well that is a fact of retail life these days. If we want small and individual businesses to flourish out of the large cities, then turnover needs to supplemented in this way.
I think that this use of a notice board to criticise people in this way is indefensible. How would some of you like to log on and see your business/your home and your way of life criticised, especially anonymously.

While Tetbury Online is firmly in favour of freedom of speech, we've had to remove some comments from this thread.
Users of the forum are free to express an opinion, but shouldn't resort to malice in order to express them.
Also, opinions must be based on fact, and as Tetbury Online can't judge whether claims are true or not, users must be very careful in what they put online.
