As many of you are aware, I posted the first "Rip of fuel in Tetbury" some several months ago.
I refused to carry on commenting after the abuse that one particular individual started.
However, it seems we are now in a bigger mess than 4 months ago. In the past week, Northfield garage has put the price up by 4p.......yes in one week!! At this rate we will be hitting the £1.40 a ltr by next week.
Some interesting points.....On radio Gloucester, yesterday, Northfield garage was announced as the most expensive in the area.......(hope the owner is proud). Secondly, the Cheapest Diesel in sold in Cheltenham...at Waitrose, some 8p cheaper a ltr.
I know nothing will come of this, as it seems there are very few people who reside in Tetbury who will actually get of their backside and do anything. Yet we all sit at home moaning and moaning about the cost of everything, not just fuel...yet do any of us actually DO anything about it? and before I get abuse, yes I wear the hat to.
It just seems to me, that if we all filled up anywhere but Northfield garage, that the owner would be left very little choice, if no one is buying his fuel. If you go on the duel carriageway to Swindon, the Shell garage, is alot cheaper and it takes about 15 mins to get there.
Is there anyone in Tetbury, who would be with me to make a stand....after all....he is making alot of money out of you and me.He does NOT need to put his prices up 2p at a time every other day...he is profiteering from us all, lining his pocket, so he can move the Audi garage.
Ok, I understand about the "Tesco" issue, how that can be a "class" issue I will never know. But, and it's a very BIG BUT, it would mean cheaper fuel for us all...and with how the cost of living is going out of control, a few pence in the pocket, is better than a few pence in the pocket of Northfield garage.
There are admittedly, some very well off people in Tetbury, who can afford the price increases, but for the majority, I fear we are all now struggling.
Any ideas??
