As an Australian/British national it is nice to see the Royal British Legion holds a service and march in honour of the Australians that died in Leighterton during the first world war. Even after nearly a century the events of the first world war are not forgotten. Lest we forget.......

I noticed that a few people have commented on the extra "hits"on this site. I'm not surprised as we are seeing loads of editorials and travel tips all suggesting Tetbury is a must visit place, either before or after THE wedding. No doubt potential visitors are checking the site for information. You are going to be very busy!

Strange request but we are going to need to buy some quality FEATHER pillows and have no idea if any shops sell them in Tetbury? Can anyone please guide us to a suitable shop?

Hi Merlin, We are certainly looking forward to our visit to tetbury and will look out for your walking guide. It sounds very interesting and will challenge some long held beliefs about the town's history. Keep up the good work!

Good on you Merlin! At least you are willing to get in there and make things happen. You have been able to answer my questions quickly and in a most helpful manner. I wish you well trying to revitalize the site. Finally as a matter of interest is Tetbury twinned with any other town worldwide?

Hi Merlin,
Many thanks for the detailed reply. It appears we will have several choices and parking should not be too difficult.
I'm glad Tetbury is a safe town as the damage waiver on a hire car is very high and the excess even higher!
Looking forward to our holiday!!! ;D

When we visit in June we will have a hire car and will need to park in Hampton street or close by. Where is it safe to park?

Nice to hear they are still around! Which ones should we buy in the supermaket? Secondly we are not only visiting Tetbury we have purchased a property in town. We plan, as the years advance, to divide our time between Australia and the UK. Lucky for us our dollar has increased in value so much that the UK prices are actually much cheaper now. Quite a turn around as the majority of our time in OZ has been spent complaining how expensive it was to travel overseas. Right now we are able to buy more than $1 US for $1 AUS, last time this happened was in the early 1980's! By the way $1 AUS buys 63 Pence!! Anyway thanks again Merlin for the reply. ;D

As an expat I still miss the old fashioned, fat laden, cheap, sausages of my youth. Woolworths used to sell sausages, I think they were called "popular ", but alas ,Woolies is no more and the old sausages seem to be replaced by healthy low fat alternatives .Can anyone tell me if the old version still exists anywhere and if so which brand is best ?
