Sorry it's taken so long, but Tetbury Online has now had a big revamp. Everything you need to know about the new site is here: www.tetburyonline.co.uk/content/your-new-websiteWhat does it mean for this Message Board? Well the new website has an in-built Forum which will provide the same service as this Message Board, but hopefully do it much better. Importantly, it's a real part of the rest of the website and so I hope will get more use. This Message Board will stay as it is for a while, but eventually I will close it for posting. I intend to leave it online though, as I know some archive posts will be useful. I'm sure there'll be teething troubles for the new site - please let me know any problems you come across and I'll try and get them fixed. Thanks for all of your constructive criticism about Tetbury Online and the Message Board - I hope you'll join us on the new website. www.tetburyonline.co.ukChris, Tetbury Online

I'm pleased to announce the new Tetbury Online is... er... online. There's more details in the General Board on here, but this forum will close soon and move over to the new (hopefully much better) site.
Thanks for all your contributions on here - they have helped greatly.

Hi, Chris here. I'm aware Tetbury Online's a bit of a sad memorial to a website which Emma correctly states, harks back to about 1998. All I'll say is that this paragraph looks miraculously prescient: I'd also add that the site needs a total overhaul design-wise. As it stands it's circa-1998, there's absolutely nothing on the front page to draw the eye, no calls to action, the formatting isn't good, the template jumps around the page when clicking links from the left-hand nav and in general it really doesn't invite you in. Personally I'd build the whole d**n thing on Drupal and have the more dynamic elements (like local news) above the fold in an eye catching place. Watch this space.

I have a theory... I think the board only allows 150 posts per topic (a stupid limit, I know). You might want to start another topic to continue the thread?

I'm afraid other (non-website) priorities have taken over recently. Tetbury Online - and the message board - aren't owned by the local council, it's just my own slightly aging attempt. Sorry if it's not more widely used, but advertising it more widely isn't a realistic option unless someone else wants to do it, I'm afraid.

Yes, they've got the same IP address, so I've amended them.

At the moment, I don't think the new forum will have member rankings. I might be able to add it in the future though (without having to move forums all over again!)
Sorry!

Just to clarify, I'm not proposing to delete this message board, but it'll be closed to new posts when the new one starts up. This one will stay here as an archive.
Hopefully increased use of the new message board will make the switch worthwhile. It should also be less prone to spam.

Tetbury Online's having a major revamp in the next couple of months (every page redesigned and rewritten from scratch and a new message board, for starters).
But what would you like to see in it? We've got a little bit of time left to add new features, so start suggesting them now!
Unfortunately it will mean moving to a brand new message board, and we won't be able to move current messages and comments over. However the new message board links directly into the main site, so should get more readers and it'll also be easier to login.
We're really excited about the new site - it already looks much better than the current design (which is nearly three years old). We'll show it to you later this summer.

Certainly a few years ago, Tetbury was a regular training ground for the police helicopter.

Hi,
We're looking to make some changes to Tetbury Online over the summer - we'd really like to hear what you think of the site.
What does Tetbury Online lack? Does it have anything it doesn't need? What do you think of the amount of news/events/business listings?
We'd really appreciate your comments - just post them below.

I've made a slight edit to the above post in order to remove a claim it contained that I can't verify.

Yes, I'm wondering if a rename for the thread would be a good idea. Just don't want people to be unable to find it!

While Tetbury Online is firmly in favour of freedom of speech, we've had to remove some comments from this thread.
Users of the forum are free to express an opinion, but shouldn't resort to malice in order to express them.
Also, opinions must be based on fact, and as Tetbury Online can't judge whether claims are true or not, users must be very careful in what they put online.
